FILMMAKER PICS & BIOS
CHRISTOPHER KAI OLSEN (Writer/Director/Producer…) is an Emmy®-winning filmmaker based out of Chicago. Part writer, director, designer, animator, choreographer, composer, and cinematographer, Chris’s playful storytelling approach can be seen in a variety of high profile projects, including the award winning PBS documentary “THE ARTSIDERS®”, the hit animated television series “VEGGIETALES®”, the film festival favorite “BUTTERFLY”, and the musical children’s video series “THREADS™”. In addition to his film work, Chris enjoys teaching and lecturing to educational institutions across the country, and has been known to walk miles out of his way in order to procure a well-made chai tea latte.
BRIAN HARE (“Cad”) is originally from Bloomfield Hills, MI. He is a graduate with honors of Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Arts Entertainment Media Management and Dance. While in Chicago Brian has performed as a company member with Chicago Dance Crash and Corpo Dance Company, as a guest artist with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, and in independent projects for Dance Chicago. He teaches students of all ages and disciplines at several Chicago dance studios and has studied under teachers including Judy Rice and Lorraine Susa at Dance Masters of America Teachers Training Program. Brian joined Thodos Dance Chicago in 2008 as a work-study intern and begins his first season as an apprentice with the Company.
MOLLIE MOCK (“Fancy”) began her early dance training in Beckley, WVa and furthered her studies at North Carolina School of the Arts, California University of PA, and WV Governors School for the Arts. She went on to graduate magna cum laude from Point Park University with a Bachelor of Arts in ballet and jazz. While there she had the opportunity to perform works by Margo Sappington, Daniel Ezralow, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, and Douglas Bentz. Since moving to Chicago, Mollie trained on scholarship at the Lou Conte Dance Studio and also had the privilege to summer apprentice with River North Dance Chicago. Mollie was a featured soloist in Thodos Dance Chicago’s collaboration with Fulcrum Point New Music Project’s “Hong Kong Comes to the Fulcrum Point.” Her collaborative work with Jeremy Blair, Reflect, which premiered at New Dances 2009 was selected into Thodos Dance Chicago’s repertory. Mollie is an active teacher in the Chicagoland area as well as for the youth dance program at the Menomonee Club for Boys & Girls. She is now in her third season as a dancer/choreographer with Thodos Dance Chicago .
